It’s been difficult to write anything the last few years—if I’m being candid. I’ve been in quite the funk. I didn’t want to write just to write. Most of the time, when that happens, you start to get weird pieces. So, when I started this Substack, I wondered if it would take.
I’m only about six weeks in, but I’ve loved it so far. I’ve loved writing again. Substack is a great way for me to work things out in real time and test different ideas/concepts. I’ve also tried to squash some of my perfectionist tendencies. Just publish stuff. See what sticks and see what you end up not liking two weeks later.
I’ve appreciated all of the kind words sent my way. Wisdom is an important topic and I’m happy to see it resonate with so many people. Hey, pat yourself on the back!
This Substack is completely free, but I do have a goal to hit 100 subscribers in the next month. I’m halfway there and I’d love to cross the finish line soon.
So, if you subscribe to my Substack, not only will each post be delivered directly to your inbox, you’ll also get my book To My Friend Who Left the Faith for free! I’ll email you the ebook file—you can open it up in Kindle, Apple Books, or Google Play Books. Just subscribe below.
Here’s a short synopsis of the book:
Wade Bearden and his friend met and grew up at church. After high school, they parted ways. Wade’s friend left the faith. Wade stayed—only to wrestle with his own questions about Christianity.
Does doubt have a place in church?
How do I know that Christianity is true?
If God is so good, why do some Christians act so terrible?
How can a good God allow so much pain and suffering?
An powerful and timely look at what it means to lose faith, and then find it again, Wade Bearden writes a letter to his friend about some of Christianity's biggest questions. To My Friend Who Left the Faith is an absorbing memoir that "takes readers on a hilarious and moving journey through doubt, suffering, and the power of faith" (Mark Batterson).
For context, I sell this on Amazon for $9.99.
Oh, and if you’ve already subscribed, just shoot me a quick message and I’ll email the book to you.
Thanks again for all of the support! If you’ve found this Substack helpful, pass it on to a friend. I’ve got some cool things coming and I can’t wait to share them with you.
